ABOUT MYSELF AND MY ACCOUNTING WORK AS AUTHOR OF  "ACCOUNTING INSIGHT"

I have been a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) since 1999 and have worked in numerous public practice firms in London, England since 1995. This has not only brought me in to contact with many different types of accounting information systems (manual to computerized) but also provided me with a rich insight into what business people need in terms of accounting information and accounting systems.

While working in the accountancy field, I have come across many cases where accountancy packages are not used properly. This is can be attributed to a lack of understanding of the basics of accounting and also of the whole financial picture that the process of accounting is trying to paint. This book is therefore a useful refresher on where all the accounting software packages started from and how in fact they do not change the basics of accounting but are intended to make accounting life easier. I believe that this benefit can be seen and felt clearly when you work at producing accounts manually and have a good idea of whole financial picture one is attempting to achieve.

I offer training to clients and accounting staff on how to use the Quickbooks® accounting package. (Quickbooks® is a trade mark of Intuit Inc.) and the Sage Line 50 accounting package (Sage® is a trade mark of Sage Plc.). I have a keen interest in information technology and to this end obtained a City & Guilds Certificate in C coding.
